Important Information: We are working hard to deliver your goods to you as quickly as possible. Whilst we have lots of items in stock we are seeing high demand on a number of essentials items. We are working with our suppliers to replenish these as quickly as possible. In some instances suppliers are closed due to the current situation so, please bear with us if we are unable to give you an estimated date when these items will be back in stock. This may also affect items which are delivered directly to you from our suppliers.

Ordering & Delivery

General Delivery:

Stock permitting, we aim to deliver orders within 3 - 7 working days of receiving your order - please allow up to 28 days for delivery.

Please note this excludes Polytunnels, Greenhouses and Sheds which have a delivery lead time of up to 3 weeks.

Signing For Delivery:

Before accepting signed for deliveries, please inspect all items for condition and count items.

If there is an error please sign for as incomplete or damaged and then call us on 0800 103 2800 to report this.

All reports for missing or damaged goods must be made within 7 days of receipt and in the case of non-delivery within 10 days of being charged. To help maintain customer goodwill we request that any notifications of missing or damaged goods should be brought to our attention as soon as is practicable.

Free delivery for all orders over £100

£5.95 for all orders £99.99 and under

All Other Locations:

William James can deliver all over the world however our standard delivery charge only covers UK Mainland. For all other destinations including Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight and Scilly Isles please call our sales team 0800 103 2800 for a quote.


If you return a Product to us:

(a) because you have cancelled the Contract between us within the thirty day cooling-off period, we will process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case, within 30 days of the day you gave notice of cancellation. In this case, we will refund the price of the Product in full, and any applicable delivery charges. However, as mentioned in our terms and conditions you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us;

(b) for any other reason (for instance, because you have notified us in accordance with condition 21.2 that you do not agree to a change in these terms and conditions or in any of our policies, or because you have notified us in accordance with condition 10.4 that you consider that the Product is defective), we will examine the returned Product and will notify you of your refund via email within a reasonable period of time.

(c) We will usually process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case, within 30 days of the day we confirmed to you via email that you were entitled to a refund. We will refund the price of a defective Product in full, any applicable delivery charges and any reasonable costs you incur in returning the item to us.
